Campaign is the best single player experience ever.
Multiplayer online is the worst experience ever.
Its that simple. Epic, you should be very disappointed with this effort, whoever designed the online section needs to be taken out into the snow and beaten with large club.
Gears has an army of followers and they have been let down totally.

If you own a 360, you know about gears of war! Its easily the best game on the console and this sequel will not disapoint!
Graphics are superb with only a few glitches and the gameplay is as solid as ever!
The only reason it doesnt get the full 5 star is because of the lentgh of time it can take to find an online game and actually start playing with others over XBL!
Still a great game that you have to be crazy not to pick up!

Now i wasn't a lover of Gears 1, i found the single player too dark for my liking, same with mulitplayer.
Gears 2 i was honestly shocked, i didn't buy it at launch because of my feelings on Gears 1. The best part of this game is the story, not for years has a video game created so many twists and turns and left absolutely engaged in the story, it was so good i was checking for the Locust when i left my house!
Seriously, the story is something else, so is the length of the single player. I remember telling my girlfriend, I'm on the last act about 6 hours in! No way, i was only at the start of Act 3! (much to her annoyance) I had another 6 hours left, its easily the best single player campaign of the year, its better than COD 5 which i found short even on Veteran.
Online has been tweaked since launch i hear and its ok now, not the best fan of it but there are different options from the first one so i might start playing it hard soon.
Is it for you? If you want a single player game that requires a tactical mind ( you can not just run and shoot) you will love it. If you want something with a good variety of weapons you will love it. If you want to be immersed into story driven combat you will love it. If you want something opened world you won't.
Overall, for an adventure shooter its the best I've played since Halo 2!

I always wondered, what made Gears of War so enjoyable? surely it couldn't have been as good as everyone said it was. Clearly i was wrong to think this after playing it for 1 week straight :D
The entertainment you will get from this game is simply immense, this has been the only game i have wanted to play since and after christmas. Mainly because it is very fun to play.
so what is good about it then:
1. Story campaing and Character involvment - The campain is solid, good amount of chapters and plenty of grub to beat down silly. There is also a nice little touch of well placed character involvment, not gonna spoil it for you but you will know what i mean. poor maria.
2.Multiplayer mode variety - Nice amount of game modes, there is:
Warzone - team deathmatch
Guardian - Protect the leader
Wingman - team deathmatch with a twist
Submission - Capture the flag with a sinister twist
Execution - Similar to Warzone only with an extra.
and finally the Hoarde mode - best fun i have had in a long time, I thought the 8 player co op on Resistance 2 was fun. Now it looks like nothing compared to this. For this mode you are packed into a team of 5-6 and have to face the 50 waves of the hoarde, each ten waves the enemy grows stronger and more volatile.
note that on all multiplayer modes that you can choose a character and a starting weapon.
3. Online Co op - nice little feature, guess if you know someone that is quite skilled you can invite tem to join you on the Insane difficulty of the campaign.
4.good amount of Weapon variety - I do like the amount of weapons that are within the game. There is like Resistance a collection of the old weapons plus some new weapons. Personally my favourite is the Hammerburst.
there is only two gripes i have with this:
1. The new enemies - the sire and the tickers are not what you would call challenging. I would say that if you are going to inlcude a new enemy in a game then they should provide a decent challenge, honestly the ticker might as well be the gears C4.
2. The hoard levels - they are not big enough, I mean this is good if you have a mortar but not when you are surrounded, it's impossible to run away and it doesnt take very long for the enemy to sneak up on your camping spot.
final score - 9.93 reocuring/10 because it is near enough infinitely fun. A must buy for any XBOX360 owner.
